It’s a feed you swipe through like any other, except every card is a real story about a person, a place, or a piece of history — so the few minutes you’d have spent on an endless social feed leave you knowing something instead. ### How does Lore help with doomscrolling and phone addiction? By changing what the habit delivers rather than trying to end the habit. The reach for the phone is automatic, and deleting an app removes the reward while leaving the reflex intact — so the hand goes to the next app. Lore fills the same moment with something you actually learn from, which is what makes the swap hold: the time stops being time you resent. ### What do I actually do in the app? Open it and scroll. Stories arrive as a few short cards each; if one grabs you, tap it to read the full article without leaving the app. You can like and save anything you want to come back to, and the feed pays attention to what you finish. ### What kinds of stories are in the feed? History, science, space, art, mythology, technology, and the odd corner of the world you’d never have searched for. Real people, real places, real events — no opinion columns, no news cycle, no takes. ## How Lore compares ### How is Lore different from a screen-time blocker? A blocker takes something away and gives nothing back, which is why most people uninstall one within a few weeks. Lore doesn’t block anything — it competes for the same moment by being worth opening. The bet is that a feed you learn from can win that moment on its own. ### How is Lore different from a news app or a social feed? There’s no feed of other people, nothing to post, no comments, no likes from strangers, and no news cycle. Nothing in Lore is engineered to make you angry or anxious enough to keep scrolling, because nothing in it is sold to advertisers. ### How is Lore different from looking things up myself? Searching asks you to arrive with a question. Lore hands you something worth reading before you’ve thought of one — condensed into a few cards, sequenced for a phone, and tuned to what you keep reading. It fills the moments you’d never have chosen to spend learning. ## The feed ### Where do the stories come from? From the record — real people, real places, real events, condensed into a few swipeable cards. Tap any story to read it in full inside the app, and every story links out to its source so you can go further or check it. ### How does Lore decide what to show me? From what you read, like, and save. The feed leans toward the subjects you actually finish — history, space, art, science — rather than toward whatever holds attention longest. There are no ads in the feed, so nothing is optimising for time spent. ### Can I save stories to come back to? Yes. Like or save anything in the feed and it stays in your account, on whichever device you sign in from. ### What is the daily read? One notification a day, at a time you choose, with a single story in it. You can change the time or turn it off entirely under notifications in the app’s settings. ## Privacy ### What data does Lore store? Your account details, the articles you like and save, your reading streak, and standard usage and crash diagnostics. There are no ads in the feed and no advertisers receiving anything about you, which is also why nothing in the app is ranked by how long it keeps you there. ### How do I delete my account and data? Open settings in the app and choose Delete Account. If you’d rather it was handled for you, email [ali@9mstudios.ai](mailto:ali@9mstudios.ai) from the address on the account. ## Subscription and billing ### What does Lore cost and how do I cancel? Lore is free to download, and an auto-renewing subscription unlocks the full feed. Current pricing is shown in the app before you subscribe, and billing runs through your Apple ID. Cancel any time from Settings on your iPhone — tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Lore — at least 24 hours before the period ends. ### How do I get a refund? Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, at [reportaproblem.apple.com](https://reportaproblem.apple.com). Email us as well if something went wrong and we’ll help however we can. ### Does my subscription work on my other devices? Yes — it’s tied to your Apple ID. Sign in with the same Apple ID and use Restore Purchases if the app doesn’t pick it up on its own. ## Troubleshooting ### My daily read notification isn’t arriving. Check that notifications are allowed for Lore in iPhone Settings, and that the daily read is switched on in the app. Notifications are scheduled on the device, so opening the app once after a long gap re-arms the schedule. ### The feed won’t load. Check your connection and reopen the app. If it persists, email us with your iPhone model and iOS version and we’ll dig in. ### I’ve read everything I’m interested in. Tell us what you want more of.
